BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Summary
Market introduction:
The brand’s smallest four-door, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, was launched on 15 October 2022.
Variants:
It is offered in three variants – 220d M Sport, 220i Sport, and 220i M Sport.
Engine and transmission:
Powertrain options on the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe are a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The former is tuned to produce 187bhp and 400Nm of torque, while the latter produces 189bhp/280Nm of peak torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is paired with the diesel guise, while the petrol gets a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The driver can choose between three driving modes – EcoPro, Comfort, and Sport. These alter the characteristics of the engine, gearbox, suspension, and air-conditioner settings.
Exterior:
The bulbous headlamps of the 2 Series Gran Tourer are chiselled, while the grille design is akin to the one seen on the 3 Series. The front bumper design varies according to trim levels and matches the overall profile of the car. The silhouette has a flowing roofline ending in a well-sculpted boot lid. The taillamp design appears to be borrowed from the 8 Gran Coupe and looks quite attractive for a small compact sedan. Rounding off the exterior are a dual exhaust setup, frameless doors and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Interior:
The 220d comes loaded with many bells and whistles you could expect from a luxury carmaker. It gets powered front seats, a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, gesture control, Apple CarPlay-connected navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.
Safety and features:
Features like driver assist active cruise control, lane change warning, rear collision warning, and cross-traffic warning are standard with the vehicle. Additionally, the innovative reversing assistant and park assist are also offered here.
Seating capacity:
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is a five-seater car.
Colours:
BMW offers the 2 Series in six colours – Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red, Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic, Storm Bay Metallic, and Misano Blue Metallic.
